Yikes Ike!

This week I have been working in Indianapolis, Indiana. Pretty much everything has run smoothly---that should have been my signal for disaster.

When I went online to check in for my flight back to San Francisco, I decided to see if I could get a better seat. I had been automatically been given 27F upon booking, which was okay because at least it was a window seat...but row 27 out of 30 does not always sustain the smoothest flight.

I clicked on "view seats" and noticed that I pretty much had my pick of any seat on the plane. "Odd" I thought to myself, knowing that not even a week ago I was lucky to even have a seat. I really didn't think that deeply about it until I decided to click on "flight status" and saw in red letters "Canceled"

AUGH! What??? Why do I listen to my stomach when chosing an airline?? Yes, it is true. I purposely chose Continental Airlines because they still serve meals--their breakfasts are awesome-- Cereal, Fruit and a muffin. The downside to this? (besides calories) Houstin Hobby IAH is their hub, and is exacty where I would connect. As we all know, Ike, which sounds much like a cat coughing up a hairball than a name, is rolling through Texas-- uninvited.

I have not been able to get in touch with the airline to see what my other options are. Its like their system shut completely down. Thankfully I was able to get back on my companies travel web site and book a back up plan. I can not imagine being stuck in Indianapolis through the weekend!!

Take a hike, Ike...and leave my Texas friends alone!! Many prayers for all of you!!
