For the past 5 weeks, I have had visitors in my home... first it was my Grandma, aunt and cousins-- the next week my mom and step-dad came to visit, and then four days later my best friend Liz came to stay.
Today I dropped Liz off at the airport, and came home to a very quiet apartment. I admit, the feeling of looking forward to the next day, next activity, next arrival is what has kept me going the last month and a half-- but tonight I came to the realization that the party has come to an end. And then I realized---
I. Have. A. Hangover.
A party hangover. The kind that starts in the back of the shoulders and builds up through tension and pressure around the spinal column, into the back of the head, and out the nose.
I have loved having my people around me. It has been fun showing them all of the sights, eating great food, and just feeling the comfort of "home" But I am exhausted. I am sure that when tomorrow comes, and I don't have someone/something to look forward to I might feel differently. But for now, I am going to put myself in to a Diet Coke coma and crash.
