Diaper Cake

I vaguely remember doing fun crafty things before moving to San Francisco. I think I remember being somewhat talented... so when I got an invitation to my friend Mary's baby shower, I decided to dust off the old rusty brain and try my hand at a diaper cake.( it had been a few years) The above is the finished product.

The day before the shower, I was leaving for SLC. So I carried the cake down to the 4th floor to give it to Mary. She wasn't home-- so I carried the cake, my suit case, briefcase, and purse down to my friend Jenna who was waiting in the car outside so that she could take me to the airport. The bottom ribbon fell off and then the links fell off too (I think originally they were on the same layer?) Regardless, I was so glad my friend Jenna volunteered to give it to Mary-- and it still looked good. Phew. I barely made my flight on time. The cake got to take a trip in the back seat to Oakland and back. Thanks Jenna for taking care of me!!!
