- January 2008- I got promoted at BE to the corporate office
- I go to San Francisco and find an apartment in 2 days-- in a great neighborhood--and one that I can AFFORD--That does NOT happen in the city. Looking back I can clearly see how blessed I am. I move in the next week!!
- February- I go and set up the Ala Moana store in Honolulu-- too bad I didn't see the ocean!!
- March---was a blurr. I was in 5 states-- Murphy took me to wine country for my birthday. We went on Easter. We saw some darling wineries, and then had lunch in a cute cafe. He ordered roast rabbit. We still laugh that he ate the Easter bunny!!
- Christy and Theresa and I eat at The Stinking Rose in North Beach for my actual birthday. SO glad to have friends in the city!
For the rest of this post, I will only mention the month if I can remember it.
In 2008 I saw a great portion of the country. Some of my favorites are: Alaska, Las Vegas, Boston, Phoenix, St. Louis, Chicago, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, New York City, New Jersey, Cleveland, Orange County-California, San Diego, Hartford, Seattle, Portland, Indianapolis, and the greater Bay Area.
- in May we had a record breaking Personal Appearance event with Leslie Blodgett in Salt Lake City. We grossed over $75,000.00 in one day.
- I got to be a National make up artist in Seattle -the event grossed $50,000.00 in 2 days.
- I also got to be a National make up artist in Anchorage- another record breaking event. And again in Temecula, Laguna Hills, and San Diego. What an awesome experience- def. not letting it get to my head though. Whew, it's hard work!!
- Two visits from my mom-(one from my step dad!) and getting to do the touristy stuff-- Alcatraz, China Town, North Beach, Union Square shopping and Wineries!
- I moved to an even better, more AWESOME apartment in July. It has more sunlight than one person could want. Thanks to Jenni and Hillary for having my back and taking care of me!!!!
- And lets not forget the friends I made this year- You know who you are!! (Jason, Sarah, LeeAnn, Jenni, Hillary) I wouldn't have made it through this past year without you!
- I LOVED getting to see my friend Brookeh (TINK!) my best room mate at Oakcrest--in Connecticut!!! SO AWESOME.
And last but not least-- Getting to spend 2.5 weeks at home for Christmas-only having to claim 5 vacation days! And then ringing in the new year with my best friend Liz, and playing Apples to Apples with my Mom and step-dad Don!!!
Some not so high points include:
- Having my hair pulled and being called out to fight by a drunk lady on a 5 hour red eye back from Anchorage--Ugh Delta Airlines!
- Hurricane Ike, almost leaving me stranded in Indianapolis for 2 days
- Falling from a ladder and breaking my back tooth-- and living with the pain for 3 days until I could get to a dentist
- Getting lost in Washington D.C. because the GPS decided to keep "recalculating" every 5 minutes!!
- Gaining XXX lbs. because of having to eat out while one the road. I will lose the weight!
- The amount of hours I wasted this year being delayed in different airports, or circling overhead due to the fog in San Francisco. I think I figured it equaled out to be about 4 or 5 days worth.
But Hey, What a year!! Here is to a better and more successful year in 2009--I hope more of you can come out to visit and take advantage of my totally sweet pad and hospitality. But only if you are cool with sleeping on an air mattress!!(And don't force me to sleep in my closet because of your snoring! :)!!
